The Teraflex Hinged Spare Tyre Carrier and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tyre Mount is designed to accommodate up to a 40” tyre on your Jeep Wrangler JL. The TeraFlex Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tyre Carrier will secure your full-size spare tyre and Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tyre Mount over the most extreme trails and rugged terrain.
It also provides easy access to the rear cargo area in one smooth action. Using the factory tailgate hinge mounting points spreads the load of the spare tyre over a larger area for maximum strength and durability. The Tyre Carrier spans nearly the width of the tailgate for better weight distribution. Internal gussets and bracing in the stock JL body support the Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tyre Carrier and oversized tyre, which eliminates all stress from the tailgate.
Teraflex designed this tyre carrier in a one-piece, forged steel hinge design that ties the top and bottom factory hinge locations together as well as additional vertical braces for increased strength. The Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tyre Carrier also provides additional mounting points for off-road accessories such as a recovery jack and fluid containers.
The Tyre Mount can support the additional weight of a full-size spare tyre by securely mounting the tyre to the Tyre Carrier and tailgate. Ensure your tailgate is up to the task, with this Alpha HD Hinged Spare Tyre Carrier Kit from TeraFlex. This kit is paired with the Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tyre Mount (4838910) to support up to a 40" spare wheel and tyre combo. Complete adjustability includes vertical as well as before and aft adjustments. Also retains full factory support for the rear camera.
